Volunteers are at the heart of the Memory Cafes which would not exist without their warmth, skills and support. You do not need qualifications to become a volunteer although some of our volunteers have experience of caring for a loved one with dementia, what we ask is that you have empathy and the ability to chat to Café members in a non-judgemental and friendly way. For more information, please contact: memorycafe@ruraldevoncab.org.uk

We often welcome people to come and entertain the Café members with music, song and activities. In the past we have had art projects, poetry reading and singing. If you, or a group you belong to are interested in coming along to run a session, please get in contact to: memorycafe@ruraldevoncab.org.uk

The Cafes are free for users so it is necessary to raise all of the core costs through fundraising. We are totally reliant on donations from local community groups, churches, companies, individuals and charitable trusts. If you belong to a group, club or society that could support us, please let us know.

Every penny you donate goes directly to support the Memory Cafes that work with people living with dementia and their loved ones – helping to reduce loneliness and isolation and connecting families to much needed practical and emotional support.
